Removing Viruses from your computer

Friends, most of us are victims of virus attack into your PC. Well, here are two easy methods to heal your PC.
1. FORMATTING C: ( OR DRIVE IN WHICH OPERATING SYSTEM IS INSTALLED) AND CAREFULLY REMOVING VIRUS FROM OTHER DRIVES.

  • Format C: (or the drive in which operating system is installed). The C: is clean due to formatting. Now you have to clean your other drives.
  • Once you have finished formatting, be careful; do not open any of the windows.
  • Press ' Windows' + 'E' OR right click on 'Start' and select 'explore' i.e., Exploring 'My Computer'. (You will find the Windows button beside 'Ctrl' button on the left).
  • Now Select 'Tools' from the menu option and goto 'Folder Options..'
  • Goto 'View' tab and here you have to make three changes.
    1. Select 'Show hidden files and folder'
    2. Uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types'
    3. Also uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) '.
  • Once you have opened the window, select any one drive and right click on it.
  • Now select 'Explore'.
  • 'System Volume Information' and 'RECYCLER' , except these two hidden folders if you find any of the hidden files or folders, just delete them using 'shift' + 'delete'.
  • NOTE: DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK ON THESE HIDDEN FILES OR FOLDERS.
  • Repeat these steps for other drives also.
2. Scanning using Anti Virus.
Merely scanning with an anti virus does not remove viruses from your computer completely. Before scanning, you need to take care of couple of things...
  • Right click on 'My Computer' and go to 'Properties'.
  • IF you are logged in into administrators' account, you will see the 'System Restore' tab.
  • Goto that tab and check (tick) the option 'Turn off system restore on all drives'.
  • Click 'Apply' and then 'ok'.
  • Now go to 'Start' then 'All Programs' then 'Accessories' then 'System Tools' then 'Disk Cleanup'.
  • Select C: and 'ok'.
  • Goto 'More Option' tab and from there at the bottom select 'cleanup' under 'System Restore' and press 'yes'.
  • Repeat the system cleanup for all other drives.
  • Last but not the least, update the anti virus and scan the whole computer.
