Folder becomes Drive!!

Guyzz!! Now you can make folder your separate drive for your convenience!! its really interesting!!

Follow the steps below :

• Go to command prompt.
  

"Start > Run" or press 'Windows R'
Type 'cmd' in it and press Enter.

• In command prompt, type SUBST [drive1: [drive2:]path] and press enter.
  

for example, SUBST Z: D:/Songs

You can see that a new drive named Z: has appeared in My Computer; when opened, opens the folder for which the path has been provided. Also, Z can be replaced with any letter.

Note: To delete this drive, type SUBST drive1: /D
drive1: its the z: here..

Kooooool way of locking a folder without using any software!!!!!

The following way is the koolest way, to lock the folder, I believe....

• Create a new folder XYZ , suppose in E:.
  

• Create a new notepad document and just type the following matter in it......

Quote:
ren XYZ XYZ.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

• Save it as lock.bat file in the same drive just beside your XYZ folder location,that is in E:
  

• Now again create another notepad document and type the following matter in it :

Quote:
ren XYZ.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} XYZ

• Save it as unlock.bat

By Clicking on lock.bat, folder XYZ gets converted to Control Panel link So that control panel opens on double clicking on it.No one can access your folder.
Again, if you want to unlock the folder, you just need to click unlock.bat
The file name can be changed instead of XYZ also the lock.bat and unlock.bat can also be renamed as per your wish so that no one can come to know about the .bat files' use.
You can store any of the files or folder in this XYZ folder..

Hide the folder so that no one can locate it, in unique manner !!!!!!!!

There are many ways to hide the folder in Windows XP service pack 2. But here is one of the easiest and damn useful trick. Just follow the steps below and hide the folder so that no one can locate it and you can keep the secret files in it!! Isn't that Kooool???????

• Create a new folder or if there is already existing folder you wanna hide, select it.
• Now right click on the folder and select 'rename'.
• Keep ' Alt ' key pressed and then press' 2 5 5 'one after the other (Use number pad).
• You will find that the folder gets blank name.
• Now just press ' Enter '.
• So, our half work is done now.
• Next job is to vanish the folder icon which is very simple and most of us know that.
• To do this , you have to right click the folder and go to the properties of that folder.
• Select the 'Customize' tab and select the 'change icon' option.
• Now select the empty icon i.e., which has no icon in it.
• Click 'Ok' and then 'Apply' and then 'Ok'.
• There you go,............ :-)

Want to hide any file in your computer?? In unique manner !!!!!!!!!

Guyz!! There are many files in our PC which we do not want anyone to open it. It may be personal data or any personal video or any damn thing which has to be kept isolated. There are enumerous techniques with which files can be hidden. But using this trick, you can say that your file will be 'encoded' and no one run or open that file to find out what it actually has. Isn't that kooooooooooool?

Well, just follow the steps to proceed.

• Let us assume that the file you have to ENCODE is your video. It May have an extension namely .avi or .dat or .mpg, etc...... Example: rohanmasti.avi
• You have to keep your extensions ON. For that you have to open

1. 'My Computer'
   
2. Click on 'tools' (in the menu bar at the top of the window)
3. 'Folder options..'
4. 'view' tab
5. Uncheck the option ' hide extensions for known file types'
6. Apply
7. Ok.

• Now, its time to ENCODE your file.
• For this , you have to right click on that file and select 'rename'.
  
• Whatever is your extension just change it to txt or any other extension. Example: rohanmasti.txt
• In this way, your file becomes unreadable to others.
• However, when you want to open that file or run that file, you just need to rename it again and put the previous extension. Example: rohanmasti.avi

NOTE: Do not forget the previous extension. Please note it down somewhere.

In this way, you can encode your file and prevent it from all guyz opening it.
